ACS&AA 2012 Better Practice Awards

Monday 22, October 2012

The awards to LHI recognised the group’s palliative care program and its lifestyle program for residents with dementia. The ‘PANDA’ Palliative Care Approach promotes a more positive attitude to death and dying and assists the nursing and allied teams in delineating the curative approach from the palliative approach. The Well-being Carer Program features a staff member dedicated to the well being of the residents in LHI’s Dementia Specific Unit. The staff member does not attend to the normal carer tasks but instead is trained to assist in lifestyle activities.
