‘Unique’ retirement living expansion at Glynde

Thirty-seven units incorporating advanced environmental and technological innovations are being constructed.

'They are arguably unique in retirement design’, says LHI’s CEO, Tim Gray.

‘The increasing need to provide excellence in ILU housing and services has always been our objective at LHI.  This project will see a new standard of housing for retirees that will exceed the expectations of clients today and into the future.’

Tim says that ‘listening to your people reveals very important aspects of their lives, some of which are sometimes overlooked by other villages.  An excellent example is that of spirituality, which becomes increasingly important as we age.’

Throughout its 50 year history LHI has recognised that, for many older Lutherans, living in a Christian community becomes a major priority when selecting a village in which they will retire.

Tim says that full-time chaplains provide a special contribution to the LHI’s ‘complete care program’, and each of its villages (Glynde and Hope Valley) has ‘its own beautiful, large, stand-alone church, with thriving congregation’.
